Admission Process

Admission to Emirates National Schools will be based on an assessment and availability of seats. The assessment may include interviews with the student conducted by the Campus Director or designee. There will be formal written assessments to evaluate student’s academic level in Arabic, English and Mathematics. These assessments will be related to the academic background and age of the student and do not require any prior preparation.

  • Student birth certificate
    • Student born outside the country will have to provide an attested birth certificate.
    • Attestation is not required for documents issued from GCC countries, USA, Canada, Europe and from Scandinavian Countries
  • Immunization record
  • Two passport sized photos
  • Report card from previous year and if applying for admission in January report card for first term of the schooling year is required Previous two grades report card from previous schools for new students enrolling in Grade 10,11 & 12.

Admission Policy

1. Age Criteria:

The ENS grade level admissions criteria using age as one criterion will be guided by the rules and regulations established by the Ministry of Education for the United Arab Emirates. The school’s curriculum learning objectives determine the recommended minimum age required for admission to each class as follows:

Pre-Kindergarten

3 years

Kindergarten 1

4 to 5 years

Kindergarten 2

5 to 6 years

Grade 1

6 to 7 years

2. Admission to Pre-KG, KG1 & KG2:

The ENS shall establish its own criteria for the admission to kindergarten based upon the guidelines established by the Ministry of Education. The birthdates deadline for admission to any grade level is to August 31.

3. Admission to G1 through G9:

Students may be admitted to the Emirates National Schools upon meeting the following requirements

  • Completion of the ENS online registration process
  • Successful completion of an academic assessment in Arabic, English and mathematics and meeting the minimum required marks

4. Admission to G10, G11 & G12:

Students may be admitted to the Emirates National Schools upon meeting the following requirements:

  • Completion of the ENS online registration process
  • Successful completion of an academic assessment in Arabic, English and mathematics and meeting the minimum required marks
  • Interview with the Campus Director/ designee for admissions decision
  • Students transferring from other schools and applying for grade 10, 11, & 12 will need their transcripts reviewed for credit transfer / equivalency evaluation by campus director/designee before a final decision is made on admission.

5. Students with Special needs:

It is the Guardian’s responsibility to inform the school registrar/ administration of special need requirements at the registration initial stage. Cases will be raised to the appropriate channels for an assessment. Admission for students with special needs will be provided only if the campus can provide the required accommodation and staffing requirements.

6. Behavioral/ Discipline students:

If there is a suspicion that a student may have a behavioral issue or has had previous discipline issues, he/she are to be referred for a counsellor meeting and with a private recommendation made to the Campus Director prior to admission. This review and recommendation are to be completed within 3 working days of the initial request

7. Emirates National Schools shall give preference to enrolled students based upon the following criteria:

VIP students; continuing students and their siblings; children of staff members; Emirati nationals; and expatriate students.

8. Student academic assessment will be a factor in determining admission acceptance or denial for Parents will be notified of acceptance/denial after all required actions for the enrollment process are completed. Communication will happen in the form of phone calls and/or email.

9. Upon acceptance of the student, a fee will be collected that will be used to hold a student seat until a final decision is made on admission. Upon acceptance of the student, for admission, the registration fee will be applied to the tuition for the student’s program. If a student is denied admission, all advance fees and payments will be refunded to the payer. All fees and tuition will be payable in accordance with the fee and payment timing schedule provided upon final notification of acceptance into Emirates National Schools. Fees and tuition not paid may result in the notification of withdrawal of the student from the ENS program and notification to agencies concerning the non-payment of fees/tuition.
